Every so often TAG will hold Action Days to undertake archaeological research and fieldwork in response to specific opportunities. These will usually be organised at quite short notice.
I’m delighted to announce that the first of these will be on Sunday 30th March 2025, when we are assembling a team to conduct fieldwalking (walking a ploughed field at intervals, collecting any surface finds). Secrecy is required to protect the site, so we can’t tell you exactly where until nearer the time. But its a fantastic location in the parish of Hutton Conyers, to the north-east of Ripon.
If you would like to join the team for the day then please get in-touch using our website contact form, stating specifically that your interest is in the fieldwalking so we don’t get it confused with our taster event in May. No previous experience is necessary. Because of parking restrictions, we are limited to 24 volunteers.
