The Thornborough Archaeology Group aims to promote and deepen an understanding of Thornborough’s remarkable prehistoric archaeology and other associated archaeological sites through events and resources.
Our community-centered fieldwork and research offers opportunities for all to better appreciate the area’s rich archaeology and to actually participate in its investigation and interpretation.
Other educational events will celebrate the achievements and lifestyles of the prehistoric peoples who once lived across and transformed these landscapes.
The Management Committee lies at the heart of the Thornborough Archaeology Group, responsible for its day-to-day operation and strategic development. We have been expanding the number of people involved, so the committee currently consists of Dr Jan Harding (Chair), Tony Hunt (Treasurer), Geoff Harris (Secretary), Dr Geoff Nunn, Dr Richard Lee, Clare Lindley, Dr Emma Watson, Prof Chris Scarre, Nova Lee, and Dick Lonsdale (honorary member). Six of these members live local to Thornborough.
We have also recruited Advisors, or people well-placed to help the organization deliver and grow. They currently consist of Andy Graham, Dave Fell, Denise Magson, Dr Jennifer Wexler, Dr Jon Kenny, Dr Rose Ferraby, Spencer Carter, Dr. Susan Greaney, and Tracy Hingley. All are highly experienced in their various professions, with a deeply impressive wealth of knowledge and understanding behind them.
