Olivia Sharrard will be joining the TAG team as an Advisor. She has already played an important role in the writing of our constitution and application for charitable status, and will have special responsibility for coordinating our planned ‘Research Seminar Series’. Here’s a little more about Olivia:
“Olivia is a UK-based Volunteering and Community Engagement Specialist within Heritage and Social Enterprise. As a freelancer, Olivia works with partner organisations to develop and deliver volunteering programmes, community engagement projects, and membership infrastructure networks. Olivia loves working with people and organisations at a grass-roots level, and has a particular interest in connecting people with places; something that she has enjoyed doing through the creation of the urban design charity York Unlocked, of which she is a member of the founding team.
Projects that Olivia has developed and delivered include the co- created ‘Beyond the Binary’ project at the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford, the annual York Unlocked CIO open-doors event in York, the ‘Joseph Rowntree Centenary’ with The Rowntree Society, and Good Organisation CIC’s national conference ‘Tourism: Our Voice’. Olivia previously undertook her MA research at University College London where she explored the barriers and adaptations involved in achieving sustainable participatory practice within museums. She is currently the Heritage Volunteering Group’s Secretary, proudly supporting their mission to help unlock the power of heritage volunteering, whilst working freelance with grass-roots organisations to support their development of volunteering, participation, and charitable status.”
